Mended Little Hearts Now Offers Parent-Matching
When
most parents and caregivers are told about their child's heart defect,
they are devastated. Even if they have family and friends to talk to,
they often feel very alone and that no one really understands what they
are going through. Similarly, adults with heart defects often feel that
there are not many people out there who are aware of the issues they face.
Now Mended Little Hearts is offering parent matching to help connect people
and provide them with support from peers who have been in similar situations.
Through our parent-matching program, we match parents and caregivers to
others in their geographic area who have children with heart defects.
We also match parents and caregivers to families around the nation who
have children with similar defects. And finally, we match adults with
heart defects to other adults with similar defects. Hopefully, through
parent-matching people can connect, share ideas, and give each other needed
support.
